Our first stop once we got into town was my dad's nursing home. He has been in and out of nursing homes, assisted living and physical therapy homes for the last year. It has been quite the emotional roller coaster for my family. Since we had a new fun camera and don't get to see my dad very often, we just kept snapping pictures.
My dad just sat there with a grin on his face watching the kids run a muck.
He loved every minute of their craziness. It really does make me feel bad that we had to move so far away from from my parents, limiting our opportunities to visit them. We were really blessed to live so close to them for so many years. The kids really miss having them near too.
These lizards always provide hours of fun at our house. I surprised the kids with some on the drive up. Gary likes to play the lizard flinging game. Unfortunately, it usually ends with one of the boys crying because they get whacked in the eye or some other part of the face. This is Alyssa's princess pose. It's also her favorite pose these days. The nursing home had a nice patio where the kids could run and get their wiggles out. It made it really nice to visit and not have to worry about them getting out of control and bothering the other residents.
The kids loved visiting grandpa because they could get free ice cream cones.
Gary's mischievous grin.
I love this grin, it either means he is up to something or just amused himself with some lame joke. I bet he just said something sassy back at my dad.
