Sweet Home Alabama!

We made it to Alabama with all 4 kids safely in tow. The only one that gave us any trouble was Sadie, but that is no different than when we are at home. She is just a feisty little thing, but we love her just the same.

We decided to stay the night in SLC at a hotel near the airport since our plane took off at 7 am sharp! The kids enjoyed swimming at the hotel.
Sadie has no fear of water. She thinks she can swim. Frequently when we are in a pool she squirms her way free and gets a big drink of pool water as she tries to do it herself.

We left the hotel at 5 am to insure we had enough time to get 4 kids through security and bags checked. Because Sadie was a "lap child" we couldn't check in online and had to actually wait in line to check our bags. That was a pain. We prefer to check-in online and avoid that mess. We almost missed the 5 am shuttle because the clock in the room was running at least 5 minutes slow.

The first fight was full--every seat was taken. Sadie got to sit on my lap most of the way, until she fell asleep (Gary took over at that point since she sleeps like an anchor). She has been very clingy to mommy this vacation. The girls finally fell asleep half way through the flight and slept for 1-1/2 hours. That made up for Sadie's prior stinkiness.

Not a fan of this picture, but it is the only one with the girls on the airplane.

After a 3-1/2 hour flight to Atanta we had a 2 hour layover. The last flight was short, like 45 minutes, but since it was a smaller plane it was less pleasant because of the turbulance.

We rented a van at the airport. It turned out to be a silver Toyota Sienna just like ours, only newer. It is pretty weird to be driving a car just like ours.

CJ & Emily met us at the airport and brought us a car seat for Alyssa. It was very nice to not haul two car seats on the plane. We lucked out because Alabama law doesn't require Jack to be in a car seat. I can't imagine having to travel with three car seats.
