Draper Temple Open House

Yesterday we took the kids to the Draper Temple open house. It was a neat experience. I hadn't been to an open house since the Portland Temple in 1989.

We first met at a neighboring church where we watched a short film about the church and temples. From there we took a charter bus to the temple.

Alyssa thought she was such a big girl b/c she got to sit next to Gavan and not mom or dad.

The Bus dropped us off and we entered these tent covered walkways that led to the temple. There were even heated. After the tour of the temple we went to the church next door and again walked through covered walkways. We never really saw the outside of the Temple except from the bus.

Walking to the Church after touring the Temple.
They had refreshments for all the temple visitors. I have never seen a cultural hall look so nice, beautiful paintings and pictures of temples decorated the walls.

Today in Primary the sharing time lesson was about temples. Both of the boys got to share their experience of going to the temple yesterday. Gavan was asked about how clean the temple was...his response "cleaner than our house". I guess I know what his new chore is...making the house sparkle like a temple.
