I get a real kick out of a good deal when it comes to shopping. I love the site Pinching your Pennies, it has taught me so much about shopping with coupons and it makes shopping a now brainer because they match the coupons up sale so I don't have to.
For those who don't find the details of my grocery shopping exciting skip this one and I'll see ya at the next. :)
Anyhow, I went shopping yesterday and here is how I made out. At Albertson's or as I fondly refer to it Albies, I had 3 prescriptions filled and they gave me $65 in gift cards for doing this. That was a $25 profit. chu-ching! All the items I bought were either Betty crocker, General Mills or Kelloggs:
8 fruit snacks
3 muffin mixes
8 brownie mixes
13 boxes of cereal
6 fruit stackers
----38 total items for $44.09 with tax.
Then I went to Smiths. I rarely shop Smith's unless they have a killer sale because it isn't worth the drive. This week was a killer sale.
I again had 3 prescriptions to fill and received $40 in gift cards making it break even for the RX.
All the items I bought were once again name brand items:
10 boxes of cereal
6 rice crispies treats
4 keebler cookies
3 soft scrub
4 lysol toliet cleaner
1 huggies 80 ct wipes
3 hunt pudding (12 ct)
4 cookies mixes
4 bacon
1 cereal straw
----40 items $55.88
So over all today I bought 78 items had 2 FULL carts and spent just under $100, thus averaging $1.28 per item. I wish I would have taken picture of my bounty. Needless to say I was pleased with my hall.
I know some do better with their coupons b/c they are able to use online printables. The coupons software in not compatible with my mac so I am unable to do this. I am excited for the day this changes, supposedly most sites are working on this problem.
