Spring Break

Last week was spring break for Gavan and Jack. This was the first year that they got then entire week of school off. Sunday night we decided we needed to go somewhere for the break. Gary emailed his boss and asked if he could work remotely from MT for the week. We the reply from his boss around 5:30 am Monday and started packing for MT to visit Gary's parents. We weren't able to go on vacation last year because Sadie was born in July. Gary and aren't the spontaneous types. We are very through in our planning, especially our vacations so we can get the most out of them, so this was very out of character for us. Gary went in early to work while I spent the day getting things packed, which with fours kids is an all day event!

Our original plan was to not tell Gary's parents and just show up and surprise them. Gary started to feel guilty so we called them about 8 pm Monday night and told them we would be there Tuesday morning. Ruth naturally thought we were teasing her, (we enjoy giving her a hard time). We got a really late start, so we stayed the night in Dillan, MT so we didn't have to drive through the night. Had we known that we would hit a big storm in Bozeman we would have driven through the night to avoid it.

Gary didn't want to take vacation time b/c we are taking off a lot of time this summer so he had to work while the kids and I played. See the next few post on what we did to pass the time while Gary worked.
